So, I've already expressed how much I think other people suck at making OC's, without ever taking a stab at my own. Hah...Egh.

But, okay, it continues.

Why the fuck can't anybody understand body-mass index?

I've seen it a million times before. Some weeaboo has enough intelligence to remember that their character has a height and a weight, but it's so unbelievably off, no matter the fact that everybody's a little different. A quick google search can give you a million charts about what's average, for different races even, so you can decide if your character truly is a shorty or a skyscraper. And even more charts will tell you what their average weight would be, whether their build is small, medium, or large. It's THAT easy!

Now, I don't try to be picky. Though it probably wasn't intended at all by the creator, maybe a character really IS chubby or underweight, but then again, the actual drawing of the person does nothing to help convey this. It just looks like a typical anime fucktard.

I'm just baffled when someone says something like "This character is 5'7" and 180lbs" and it's a twig-armed emo kid. Or "She's 5'4" and 130lbs" or "He's 5'8" and 115." All average/skinny. Just no.

Or, or, 5'6" and 95lbs. Just saw that a few minutes ago. Do you understand that that's dangerously underweight?! Enough to make them bed-ridden?! I'M 95 lbs! And I'm 5'3"! And I'm in the fifth percentile for girls my age. I'm literally at the borderline of concern. Well, at least it wasn't as bad as the other day, when I found someone who was um... 4'11" and 55lbs. I was seriously about to comment and say "kid, your character would be dead." But I just didn't. Didn't want to start it.

I also notice people like to add weight when it's a character a bit older than the others or they want to make known has some kind of dominance. Sorry, that doesn't work. It just makes them fat.

Also? Age does not have to correlate with height. Just because Tsuki-vagina-senpai is 2 years older than Sabazuki-chan, doesn't mean Tsuki-vagina needs to be taller. Var-i-a-tion~~~~~~.

Again, it's damn easy to find out the correlation between height and weight instead of pulling something out of your ass. It also helps you slightly give more of a shit about what your character looks like, because you need to make a choice about their body, a real one. Make your character overweight. Make them muscular. Make them practically anorexic! Just actually show it, and have them be that way for a reason. (Reasons are easy, too, so don't give me that shit.)

Also, another thing that bugs me which doesn't really have quite as much to do with accuracy, but actually wait, yes, it does.... is the fact that people (especially girls who...I don't know...aren't around guys very much), will make up adult male OC's (high school or above) that never exceed the height of 5'5".

Maybe in Japan, which I know most of everybody's OC's come from, but that's pushing it. Or maybe if all your characters are part of that group of midget freshmen that looks like they don't belong in high school but are and nobody would be able to date and take them seriously... I-I-I mean do they know that the average male height is something like 5'10" - 6'? Apparently not. A height like 5'7" for a male is already rather short, but below the average female height is just pathetic. I could understand one, two at most, of your characters having growth problems, but all of them? I think this ties in with the fact that people seem to want to make characters that they feel are enough like them for them to handle. XD Come on now, expand. I hate to sound controlling of your creativity, and perhaps I'm taking a piss in the wind here because even with correct body mass index, most OC's are still going to be ridiculous in every other way...

And about the commisions. I'm still thinking about it. Class and work start soon (parents are lending me money...) But I'm trying to imagine myself having the free time to do them, and I want to, because I want money and am slightly interested in doing other people's characters. But yes, let's see how it goes.
